Deacon Nomination Criteria and Procedures:
Criteria:
1) Follow
Christ and meet biblical qualifications (e.g. 1 Tim 3:8-13), and "walk
together in Christian love" (2nd paragraph in membership covenant)
2) Abide by the church constitution and
by-laws (7th paragraph in membership covenant)
3) Willing and able to serve (5th
paragraph in membership covenant)
4) Engage to maintain devotions and prayers, and put away all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil
talk. Seek to be kind to "one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for
Christ's sake, has forgiven us.” (Ephesians 4:31-32) (3rd and 4th
paragraphs in membership covenant)
5) Attend CCCC and offer regularly in CCCC (2nd
paragraph in membership covenant)
Procedure as per bylaws:
1) Form nomination
committee
2) Confirm with
nominees
3) Obtain Board
approval
4) Present to
congregation for approval in duly called members’ meeting according to criteria
set forth in CCCC bylaws
